Responsibilities

DESCRIPTION:

  • Performs safety related administrative tasks, to include compliant program recordkeeping, equipment procurement, Workers’ Compensation case management, and responding to inquiries.
  • Develops, evaluates and maintains effective health/safety policy and procedures to comply with corporate and regulatory requirements, these activities include but are not limited to Safe Operating Procedures, Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, and JSA's.» Administers facility environmental activities including scheduling, tracking, and reporting, planning, sampling, and regulatory permitting for environmental assessments, and investigations to ensure corporate & regulatory compliance.
  • Conducts routine audits and inspections of environmental procedures and controls, recommending corrective action to maintain safety and effectiveness.
  • Maintains effective relationships with regulatory agencies.

  • Conducts routine audits and inspections of environmental procedures and controls, recommending corrective action to maintain safety and effectiveness.
  • Maintains effective relationships with regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinates the Sanitation Program and leads/trains the HACCP team to support compliance to requirements.
  • Determines training needs and coordinate training activities as required to close any gaps when program modifications are required.
  • GMP responsibilities:
    • Facilitates product/raw material chemical qualifications relevant to specific plant operational and logistic considerations
    • Communicate chemical approvals/ specified usage limits to plant personnel responsible for complying with the same
    • Execute said duties to maintain compliance with stated product safety/GMP, legal, regulatory and quality systems requirements

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS degree in safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental related discipline and 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Certification preferred (CIH, CSP, and/or CHP) with knowledge of Process Safety Mgmt, Title V, NPDES and Storm Water Pollution Programs, Hazardous Waste Mgmt.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills Able to work flexible hours and be available on call before or after normal business hours; must be able to work at other locations and travel overnight.
