Job Description:
Responsible for working with Production Shift Leaders and shift Process Technicians to resolve ongoing problems, provide technical training to Process Technicians and/or Operators, support set-up in bringing lines into production, work with corporate engineers on new product development and R&D trial requests, and work with Process Engineers to maintain accurate and up-to-date process sheets. All appropriate information needs clearly and accurately communicated whether by emails, reports, or meetings.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Mission Oriented- able to work level up and down to accomplish OEE/lbs and able to prioritize lines running.
· Lead efforts on the production floor to develop improved process capabilities by reviewing data, contributing to programs, looking at new technologies and acting upon the findings.
· Lead plant programs to improve process capabilities for existing jobs.
· Provide process input to new product development teams: By working with corporate engineers on new project development, lead plant startup of these jobs and develop stable process conditions.
· Develop and conduct training programs for line operators and process technicians.
· Develop, implement and execute programs to improve overall product quality and line efficiencies.
· Work with material suppliers on understanding material behavior throughout the whole process.
· Exhibit the ability to work (troubleshoot) within a minimum of two forming departments within your home facility.
· Ability to perform all tasks to a higher standard than a Process Technician can do.
· Ability to coach, train, and direct on shift Process Technicians and Operators as technical lead. Production Shift Leaders will still be responsible for final decisions and elevations.
· Ability to develop and maintain periodic training for Operators and Process Techs for both at the line and classroom trainings.
· Perform monthly 121’s with Process Techs and higher-level OP’s (Lvl’s 3-5).
· Clearly document all findings and data gathered while working on projects and improvements, with clear communication via reports, emails, and meetings
· Update, review and manage process sheets within a work group
· Lead by example in approach and decision making that lead to higher Operational Efficiency Effectiveness.
· Prioritize Safety and Quality all the while achieving targeted production lbs.
· Weekend rotational – on-call to support team in functions of filling a position, setup related tasks, working a breakdown when team hits a roadblock.
· Flexible schedule for coverage with adjoining shift SPT’s (extend/start early by half shift) when production is not stable.
· Scheduled to support successful start-ups from plant outages.
· Succession Planning- rotation of Process Techs to fill during vacation for self; plan to cover tasks for Process Engineers when on PTO (Paid Time Off).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· Four-year technical degree or minimum 5-8 years relevant experience (or similar combination of education and experience)
· Experience in plastics processing, including forming and extrusion required
· Knowledge of both conventional and OMV equipment and processes required
· Experience working with machinery
· Experience in analyzing and solving problems
· Strong analytical skills with a high level of initiative and trouble shooting skills
· Teamwork skills
· Excellent planning, organization, and assessment skills
· Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints
· Good verbal, written and presentation skills
· Leadership skills are a must
· Ability to work under pressure
· Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, Pactiv’s ERP (Enterprise Resource Program) system, etc.) required
