Responsibilities

Summary:

The Facility Network Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the network optimization business case through project management and infrastructure leadership for facility consolidations, legacy site mitigation, and new facility development (both Greenfield and Brownfield). This role ensures that facilities are designed, configured, and executed in alignment with synergy targets, service reliability, and cost efficiency.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead facility consolidation, reconfiguration, and decommissioning projects.
  • Support Greenfield and Brownfield site stand-ups, including layout and infrastructure design.
  • Conduct volumetric and density modeling to optimize storage and throughput.
  • Develop AutoCAD layouts for racking, MHE, and workflow efficiency.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Distribution, Finance, Procurement, and IT.
  • Validate synergy assumptions and cost savings tied to network optimization initiatives.
  • Manage end-to-end project execution, reporting, and risk mitigation.
  • Serve as SME on warehouse design, infrastructure, and material handling strategies.

Specialization Tracks:

This role can evolve into specialization within:

  • Network Design & Execution: Translating models into actionable site strategies.
  • Facility Engineering & Optimization: Driving layout design, racking, and MHE solutions.
  • Project & Program Management: Leading large-scale capital and facility initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse design, facility engineering, or fulfillment operations.
  • Strong analytical background with volumetric/density modeling expertise.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and facility layout design tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 40%.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Hands-on knowledge of racking systems, MHE, and warehouse infrastructure.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced environments.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time, on budget, and aligned to strategic goals.

Compensation (Recommended Range)

  • Base Salary: $95,000 – $125,000 (Mid-Level)
  • Senior-Level / High-Cost Market: $125,000 – $145,000
  • Bonus Eligibility: 10–15% annual performance bonus (based on synergy/project delivery KPIs)
  • Travel Expectation: Up to 40%
