Responsibilities

Summary:

The Training specialist is responsible for the training of new / temporary employees as well as ongoing skills training in the Packaging Associate, Operator Associate and Operator Specialist positions. The objective is to complete standardized training using a flexible timeframe to match each individual’s learning pace while ensuring training progress is achieved, and to accomplish all training in a safe and effective manner.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for updating, maintaining and implementing to appropriate training and training documentation with input from Operations leadership.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule including the ability to work all shifts as needed
  • Fully understand (signed off) the core functions of all packing and operator positions.
  • Work directly with Training Coordinator, Team Leaders and Supervisors to coordinate training activities.
  • Meet regularly with the Operations Manager and Human Resources to assist with training requirements to meet business needs.
  • Responsible for guiding all trainees in safe, quality work.
  • Prepare training packets, distribute and collect when necessary.
  • Help maintain training matrix for all departments.
  • Assist with timely completion of reviews / assessments.
  • Monitor training performance to schedule.
  • Track an employee’s development and work with management if an employee is not meeting expectations so additional training may be provided.

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Basic Microsoft skills (outlook, power point, word, etc)
  • Capable of communicating in front of large groups and interacting with peers and site leaders.
  • Reliable/Dependable as it relates to completing work assignments
  • Proven experience in effectively coaching peers. Willingness to coach leaders.
  • Previous experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Must have acceptable work and attendance record:
  • Have not received a Step 2 disciplinary action in the last 12 months
  • No more than 5 absences (incidents) in the past 12 months rolling period

Physical Requirements/ Environmental/ Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to constantly stand, walk, use hands, and arms
  • Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 70 pounds
  • Frequently required pushing or pulling items using force up to 95 pounds.
  • Must be able to frequently climb 10-40 steps and occasionally climb 5-10 ladder rungs.
  • Able to work in differing temperatures.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime as required.
