The goal of this position is to demonstrate maximum efficiency within a manufacturing facility. As our manufacturing technology, automation and opportunity for optimization increase, we must transfer knowledge, network and leverage best practices within our manufacturing sites as we continue to develop a Lean Management System to run our facilities, as well as optimizing plant performance by ensuring a flawless implementation of the Pactiv Evergreen Production System (PEPS).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Bridge the gap between technical and operational teams, executing a range of CI solutions that move operations beyond current state to the next level of efficiency.
• Manage the CI budget within the facility to ensure projects are returning maximum savings to the business by implementing cost saving projects utilizing both Lean and 6 Sigma methodologies.
• Drive the implementation of the Pactiv Evergreen Production System (PEPS) within the facility.
• Develop a PEPS auditing strategy to ensure growth and sustainability of the program.
• Conduct weekly and monthly presentations to group leaders and continuous improvement leadership appraising overall site readiness levels and capabilities.
• Drive targeted, sustainable improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
• Develop a facility Continuous Improvement Strategy to include plan development, schedules, and budgets for projects to improve existing processes.
• Ensure adherence to Lean Methodology, including Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Daily Management, Layered Audit Process and Business Plan development to eliminate waste.
• Has knowledge in the areas of: 5S, SMED, TPM, VSM, PDCA or equivalent, A3 Problem Solving.
• Ensure all leadership team members are equipped with standard work and trained to operate with a multitude of technologies and business process changes.
• Oversee all training at all levels of staff in the PEPS methodology.
• Partner with Operating Unit Continuous Improvement Manager to ensure process improvement projects are completed timely and on budget.
• Improvement orientation and training: Provide training for teammates and ensures that the responsibilities are defined and understood and oversees the lean projects. Teach others to lead improvement efforts, including training on effective tools for successful project leadership.
• Metrics Definition and Development: Establish metrics to monitor financial savings as compared to established goals and targets.
• Identify ongoing lean improvement: Identify training needs of all leadership team members. Assist with developing and implementing the required training.

Education and/or Experience Requirements (Qualifications):
• Bachelor's degree in a field related to Business, Engineering or Packaging Industry.
• 5+ years of lean experience in various, complex manufacturing environment; dedicated manufacturing Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
• Previous Supervisory or Management experience preferred.
• Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Processes, Automation and SAP strongly preferred.
• Project management skills are required; as they will often be required to work on several improvement projects simultaneously, with very disparate groups of people within the organization.
• Must have Microsoft Office experience with advanced Excel Skills.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a variety of environmental conditions, including hot, cold, wet, dusty, or noisy areas.
• Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the task.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000-$158,400 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
