NOW HIRING a Set-up Technician!

 

Role:  Primary function is to perform from initial setup of the process through production. Secondary function, when F/K has production problems, is to troubleshoot, direct, and lead line technicians during production process.

 

Shift: Monday- Friday, 6am- 3:00pm 

 

Pay: Starting at $25/HR, based on experience

Responsibilities

Key Job Requirements: 

  • Responsible for the process setups from the initial installation through to final production. Set up all process adjustments (may include as many as 50 to 60)
  • Be part of a rotational on-call schedule to assist any shift with setup and process troubleshooting needs as required. (This is not to exceed overtime safety limits.)
  • Must be team oriented with leadership qualities capable of teaching others technical details
  • Demonstrate proficiency at troubleshooting all process setups for flaws that may lead to poor product quality or shorten the life-span of the tooling and/or the equipment
  • Responsible for assembly, installation and alignment of tooling into equipment as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment
  • Complete various projects and assignments as determined by the Process Technicians
  • Other duties as necessary

Technical Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of company specific product, material and/or production technological methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment in manufacturing facilities
  • Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of standard manufacturing business processes
  • Demonstrates and advanced comprehensive knowledge of entire process from concept to commercialization

Operate Equipment:

  • Demonstrates ability to utilize standard hand tools
  • Ability to operate thermoforming equipment and peripherals

Maintain Records: Ability to accurately record and maintain information as required.

 

Maintenance/Repair:

  • Demonstrates basic mechanical aptitude and abilities
  • Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot and efficiently identify appropriate course of action

Leadership: Ability to coach, mentor and develop direct reports. (GR identified personnel only.)

Qualifications

Education & Experience: 

  • Three to five years experience in extrusion/thermoforming
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Speaking and presentation skills to conduct effective meetings
  • Pretest for mechanical aptitude, spatial relationships
  • Capable of working with minimum supervision and maintain high degree of technical proficiency

  • Work 12-hour shifts, standing and walking for extended periods

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs.
