Maintenance Specialist|Grant Park, IL|HIRING IMMEDIATELY|

 

 

***Do you have at least 5 years of Industrial Electrical Maintenance experience working with PLC's, VFD, and 120 to 480 low voltage? Bring that and your basic troubleshooting and maintenance work experience to our Grant Park location and join our team, we will continue growing your experience. 

 

 

 

Starting Pay Range: $36.81 to $41.95 an hour - Paid Weekly

 

*Eligible for monthly bonus based upon plant productivity*

 

Shifts Available:

 

1st Shift - 7:00am to 3:00pm

Responsibilities

Responsibilities: 


• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, conduit,
electrical panels, motors, and control systems.
• Install and configure electrical components for new and existing production
lines, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical
systems to identify and address potential issues before they cause
disruptions.


Troubleshooting and Repair:


• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using advanced testing
equipment and tools.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as wiring, switches, relays, and
circuit breakers to restore system functionality.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to resolve complex electrical issues
and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
Control Systems and Automation: Required
• Program and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to control
automated machinery and processes.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and
Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
• Optimize control systems to enhance production efficiency and product
quality.


Documentation and Compliance:


• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders,
inspection reports, and parts inventories.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC),
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, and
other relevant standards.
• Assist with the development and implementation of standard operating
procedures (SOPs) for electrical maintenance tasks.
Safety and Training:
• Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
to maintain a safe working environment.
• Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate
electrical hazards.
• Provide training and support to production and maintenance staff on the
safe operation and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and
technical manuals.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including AC/DC motors, control
circuits, and power distribution.
• Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repair (Siemens,
Allen-Bradley, etc.).
• Familiarity with VFDs, HMIs, and other automation components.
• Skilled in using electrical testing equipment, such as multimeters,
oscilloscopes, and insulation testers.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Perform all preventative maintenance on machinery and auxiliary equipment as required and as delegated by Manager.
  • Rebuild all machine parts as necessary and installs as needed.
  • Perform prep work, set up and installation of new equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment and machinery is operating properly during his her shift.
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic blueprints and sketches.
  • Must be to read and use the following tools: ruler, micrometer, calipers, and assorted hand tools. These work tools are all associated with the repair and maintenance work.
  • Must be able to read with comprehension, repair manuals for machinery.
  • Perform designs, fabrications, weld and burn with torch as needed.
  • Need some basic lathe and milling machine experience. Required for some repairs done on machines and equipment.
  • Ensure that proper lock-out / tag-out procedures are adhered to while performing work on machines or equipment.
  • Assure all areas around equipment are safe and keep work area clean and organized at all times.
  • Must have overall mechanical knowledge in all facets of manufacturing operations and equipment to ensure operations run efficiently and smoothly.
  • Must have 5+ years experience in maintenance, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Must be able to read (blueprints) with comprehension and application and, perform math functions.
