Responsibilities

This position is for Pactiv Evergreen Inc.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Exhibit operational leadership to ensure that Extruders are operated in a safe, efficient manner and that any quality or equipment-related problems are addressed accordingly.
  • Primary emphasis is on the quality of production, process stability, extruder standards, and scrap reduction of Extruders in the Extruder department.
  • Provide technical and process support during changeovers, drum changes, bubble loss events to allow for process stability.
  • Troubleshoot process abnormalities and minor equipment issues, plus implement corrective actions. Use of a 5 Why and PDCA forms are required.
  • Utilize Maintenance Connection for opening and closing work orders.
  • Utilize Insight to provide notes for work completed on production lines.
  • Partner with Shift Maintenance on complex mechanical/electrical issues and work together to implement a technical solution.
  • Train Department SOSs and Operators during events that leas to an unstable process, creating non quality finished goods or abnormalities.
  • Perform required daily and weekly task per LSW (Leader Standard Work). Supervisors will perform daily audits and weekly one on one meetings to ensure tasks are completed.
  • Daily check and responses to emails and become actively involved in discussions via Teams Department group chat, group messages, and or phone calls to guide the Team.
  • Perform daily structured audit of all operational and non-operational extruders, to include Recycle Department per Department Engineer Audit Checklist. Use strategic methodology to correct any Line Condition found out of compliance or active deviations. Update Line Condition, if necessary, with Engineering Team.
  • Utilize multiple communication tactics to train and to overcome abnormalities in the Extrusion Department to include one on one coaching, group discussions and meetings with the Leadership Team to create an overall safe and stable process for Extrusion.
  • Perform daily Silo Management audit and corrections, to include communicating and training with Team Leaders.
  • Continue to obtain and educate current knowledge of process from Engineer and Technicians coaching to achieve understanding of all processes with Extrusion Department.
  • Review, revise, and create SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for the Extrusion Department.
  • Support Continuous Improvement activities to include 6, Visual Management, all PEPs Playbook requirements and other CI needs led by local CI Manager.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of manufacturing or industrial experience working with production equipment and proven mechanical ability.
  • Mechanical aptitude demonstrated problem-solving skills and effective communication skills - written and verbal are required.
  • Must have good oral and written English communication skills.
  • Must have a valid Pactiv LTO License or be able to receive a license by successfully completing a Pactiv LTO training course.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

 

Physical Requirements/ Environmental/ Working Conditions:

  • This person will be required to be on call and cover for other team members during absences, vacations, and other periods of leave.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job: pushing/pulling at waist level, overhead force up to 95 pounds & frequently carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds
  • Must be a demonstrated team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • No Step 2 corrective actions within the last six months (internal).
  • Able to work in differing temperatures
  • Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime as required
