Compensation:

 

  • Starting rate of $27.03 - 32.74/hour depending on experience

The Team Leader guides the overall shift team in Safety, Quality, and productivity to work toward multiple published targets in all areas. Working as an integral team member, the Team Leader works to assure required tasks and duties are completed as assigned as well as drive regular continuous improvement to maintain and improve production. The Team Leader is a hands-on leader that works directly with team member in resolving

issues and improving overall performance both from a personnel standpoint, and from a mechanical/technical standpoint.

 

The majority of time should be expected to be on the shop floor, with the other time completing various computer or shift paperwork and reporting. The job responsibilities in this position description are not all inclusive

and other duties may be assigned.

 

Responsibilities

  • Direct team efforts in assuring safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Ensure incidents/accidents are reported and investigated properly and follow case management process through completion
  • Direct quality efforts for the team by ensuring quality checks are done in accordance to specs, run rules are followed and app appropriate checklists are completed during shift start and changeovers
  • Comply with all GMP standards and ensure adherence to all 3rd party audit requirements (BRC, and other)
  • Work with teams on improving line efficiency and productivity, reducing downtime, and reducing scrap
  • Ensure standard work practices are followed as well as defined troubleshooting methods. Coach as well as address performance issues as appropriate
  • Coordinate team resources to ensure staffing of plant priority lines following published scheduled and priorities
  • Coordinate team resources per manning tables and skills matrix
  • Give direction, coordinate and lead efforts with support operations such as maintenance and tooling to keep lines operating at all times
  • Create maintenance work orders for work requests when needed
  • Utilize Pactiv Business System processes to track, report, and lead countermeasures. Examples include; leading tier meetings, hour x hour line tracking follow-up and auditing, completing shift end tally and reporting process
  • Lead and direct trainers in the training of operators through published training modules for all operator levels, and assure timely completion of training modules
  • Inventory: Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories, ensure proper stock rotation
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area following 6S standards. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
  • Maintain data integrity within plant manufacturing of warehouse departments by assuring all appropriate transactions are complete throughout the shift
  • Collect and audit paperwork and perform daily tasks including order reconciliation, order confirmation, correction of errors, file maintenance, etc.
  • Manage time and attendance for shift and support any timekeeping duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in leadership role
  • Some college or technical coursework desired
  • Strong computer skills (Minimum above average ability in MS Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook, Access desired)
  • Ability to work with and create Excel spreadsheets using formulas
  • Experience using SAP and ability to learn and use other software programs
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be able to be involved in several projects at one time, able to ensure progress through continued monitoring, prioritizing, and follow-up
  • Ability to work with associates at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to provide effective informal coaching and training
  • Ability to set priorities and cope with several problems simultaneously
  • Ability to create training documents, Single Point Lessons, and forms as needed
  • Possess good communication skills (Verbal and written)
  • Possess a positive professional attitude
  • Ability to physical requirements of the Job profile and Medical Assessment requirements for the position

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
    Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to do simple math equations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, and percentages) and able to use calculator
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to read, write & understand basic English and/or Spanish. Able to communicate effectively, positively interact with coworkers and management and deal effectively & professionally under pressure
  • Reasoning Ability: Job requires the use of established guidelines that are well defined or detailed with little or no choice of action
  • Computer Skills: Ability to learn and use internal programs such as Insight, Maintenance Connection, etc.

The plant was Founded in 1993, manufactures APET Containers, and has approximately 300 employees.
