Responsibilities

This position has dual responsibility for both the Stockton plant and Regional Operating Unit. The Regional Quality Manager demonstrates excellence in quality efficiency from plant to plant within an Operating Unit (OU). This Quality Manager will be responsible for the overall Quality strategy for the Operating Unit; launching new, and enforcing established, standards and protocols, ad hoc quality audits, committees, and training activities across a set of facilities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Executes quality assurance related strategic plans to support the organization’s objectives and goals within an OU.
  • Plans, coordinates, and provides oversight of quality assurance systems to ensure quality production across the OU consistent with established specifications and standards.
  • Develops close partnership with New Product Development team.
  • Provides updates on significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance related investigations, audits, or improvement activities.
  • Owns oversight of tracking metrics including development and oversight of corrective/preventative action systems across the OU.
  • Ensures uniform product specifications, quality assurance methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC) run rules are in-use across the OU.
  • Reports quality assurance KPI information to key stakeholders.
  • Applies SPC, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing methods to evaluate and improve the current quality assurance systems and processes.
  • Ensure adherence to Lean Methodology, including Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Daily Management, Layered Audit Process and Business Plan development to eliminate quality issues.
  • Provides strategic guidance and oversight to the local quality assurance resources.
  • Executes quality assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with local managers.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards, including food safety.
  • Ensures continuous compliance with government, customer, and third party food safety certification requirements, including on-site audits within the OU.
  • Manages a Quality Budget across the OU that represents an achievable value to deliver back to the business
  • Effectively lead, manage, develop, coach, and evaluate team members and associates at various levels of experience.
  • Develop, deploy and maintain the plant's quality improvement systems.
  • Regularly collect, analyze, summarize and report process quality information to all levels in the organization.
  • Develop, implement quality policies, procedures.
  • Plan, evaluate, and implement product specifications, test procedures.
  • Identify, recommend, acquire, coordinate repairs, preventative maintenance, and calibration of testing equipment.
  • Provide technical support, expertise in statistical methods, DOE & continuous process improvements to plant population.
  • Manage data gathering software, including procurement, installation, programming & end-user training.
  • Support cost reduction & process improvement projects.
  • Coordinate and champion the plant in obtaining and sustaining the AIB certification, as well as other external customer certifications and inspections.
  • Provide analytical support & coordinate the efforts involved in resolving quality issues in regards to product failures and/or returns.
  • Act as a plant point of contact in regards to product quality for customer service, sales & marketing.
  • Responsible for home plant within the operating unit.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree preferred in Business or Technical Discipline.
  • 5-7 years of quality management experience or process engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer/Professional Quality/Statistical Application certification.
  • Experience with BRC, GFSI, or AIB certification and audits preferred.
  • Microsoft Office, Statistical Software & some programming experience.
  • Statistical methods & process improvement techniques.
  • Superior mathematical & statistical ability.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing lab practices & test procedure.
  • Continuing education: quality, statistical applications, business communication with a minimum of 1 seminar or course every other year.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including off-shift coverage & some weekends.
  • Some travel required, 25% to 30% depending on need.

 

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $109,300 - $182,100 + bonus + benefits.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   At Pactiv Evergreen, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
