64 miles south of Montreal, Canada, and just west of Lake Champlain, Plattsburgh is a city in and the seat of Clinton County, New York. The population was 19,989 at the 2010 census. The population of the unincorporated areas within the surrounding Town of Plattsburgh was 11,870 as of the 2010 census, making the combined population for all of Plattsburgh to be 31,859.

 

The plant was built around 1902, manufactures sustainable molded fiber products such as cup carriers, school lunch trays, plates, and bowls, and has approximately 125 employees. Plattsburgh has been awarded multiple safety and environmental awards over it's illustrious history within the community.

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

 

  • Provide leadership over the entire Maintenance department (Maintenance, Day Adjusters, CTA employees), with the ultimate objective of maximizing production volume while achieving cost targets.
  • Manages the MRO budget and develops the technical talent in the group.
  • Assures plant facilities and production equipment are properly maintained.
  • Manages Maintenance connection and assigning work orders.
  • Works with plant technical and operations resources to identify capital deployment opportunities.
  • Responsible for all contractors within the facility as needed.
  • Oversees the water treatment program at the facility via a 3rd party vendor.
  • Oversee/Manage facility utilities to include steam, water and electricity usage to meet AOP.
  • Responsible for facility asset register and performing quarterly asset reviews.
  • Responsible for selecting incoming maintenance apprentices as needed to include electricians.
  • Provides engineering/Maintenance support and resources to sustain plant production.
  • Coordinates communication and implementation of manufacturing and technical initiatives.
  • Identifies Capital improvements that will assist the plant in achieving AOP.
  • Identify all Return to Capital projects to return existing equipment to original or near original state.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

  • BA/BS degree preferred in Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years in Engineering Management or Industrial Maintenance Management 
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and negotiation skills required.
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve various technical related issues.
