Responsibilities

The Thermoforming Process Technician is responsible for working with process team leader to resolve ongoing problems, supporting setup in bringing lines into production, working with Corporate engineers on new product development and R&D trial requests, and working with process team leader to maintain accurate and up to date process sheets.   

 

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be proactive in identifying improved process capabilities on the production floor
  • Provide input to new product development teams upon request. Actively participate in start-ups of jobs
  • Following established programs improve overall product quality on a continual basis
  • Thorough understanding of material behavior in the thermoforming process
  • Assist in the start-up of new equipment with process support
  • Maintain and upkeep process definition sheets and tracking system
  • Ability to work on equipment with basic hand tools
  • Maintain high degree of technical proficiency acquired through experience and on-the-job training versus prolonged courses or specialized instruction.
  • Other duties as necessary

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work closely and productively as part of a cross-functional team.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of company specific product, material and/or production technological methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment in manufacturing facilities.
  • Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of standard manufacturing business processes.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of entire process from concept to commercialization.

Maintenance/Repair:

  • Demonstrates basic mechanical aptitude and abilities.
  • Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot and efficiently identify appropriate course of action.

 

Project Management:

  • Ability to provide direction and support during project introduction with Manufacturing team.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of NPD process.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Two year technical degree or five (5) years relevant experience
  • Experience working with machinery
  • Experience in analyzing and solving problems
  • Good analytical skills with initiative and trouble shooting skills
  • Teamwork skills
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints
  • Good verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, ERP system, etc.) required
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Visually read various postings, bulletin boards, and computer monitors/screens
  • Hear safety warning devices and alarms
  • Possess adequate ability to do problem solving and establish cause and effect relationships in an office and/or manufacturing environment.
