The Asset Care Manager (Plant Engineer) is responsible for the plant manufacturing engineering function and manages the maintenance
and planning of facility assets to achieve high performance levels and ensure compliance. He/She directs those assigned
for carrying out these functions to maximize operational time while reducing unscheduled downtime in support of the
TPMM system. The Asset Care Manager I is responsible for facility structure and support equipment and safety and
environmental compliance at Federal, State and local level.
Position Summary

Capital Management
Ensures responsible capital management for equipment and facility.
Equipment Care
Develops, evaluates and improves equipment care methods and processes with a focus on maximizing Fabri-Kal
equipment utilization and longevity with efficient use of resources.
Equipment Design and Facilities, Support Equipment, and Grounds Maintenance
Suggests equipment design changes aimed to improve operational efficiency. Maintains the upkeep of plant facilities and
grounds required to support continuing operations and growth and delivers consistent, reliable utilities to the
manufacturing shop floor, to include water, electricity, compressed air, and air conditioning systems.
Lean Management
Applies lean manufacturing techniques to reduce consumption and waste and works with plant manufacturing value
streams to coordinate activities and achieve asset utilization objectives.
Scheduling
Works with other managers to ensure schedules are met, problems addressed, and improvements are implemented.
Workforce Utilization
Optimizes workforce utilization of hourly employees through salary direct reports. Ensures the team has effective work
strategy, detailed planning and 'down day' execution and effective skills development systems required to support the
system.
Knowledge:
Inventory Control Materials & Goods
Optimal inventory control of all raw materials, packaging and finished goods which includes requisitioning, receipt,
storage, repack and handling of these goods.
Lean
Demonstrates understanding and utilization of lean manufacturing tools and strategies
Machine Care
Machine care best practices
Preventative Maintenance
Preventive maintenance (TPM) principles and systems
Maintenance Knowledge
Reasonable knowledge in the basic maintenance skill sets, Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, Machine Shop
Mechanical Tools
Ability to use standard hand tools, measurement devices and test equipment and to understand and work effectively on
equipment with complex mechanical, electrical and pneumatic features, PLC controls and first-hand troubleshooting and
ownership.
Work Order Management
Understands open work orders, including how to review, analyze, prioritize and implement them within the related
computer software.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or Associates degree with equivalent work experience.
Experience Requirements:
5 years of technical management experience required.
5 years of TPM environment experience preferred.
