DESCRIPTION:
· Responsible for all aspects of EH&S, manufacturing (cost and productivity), engineering and logistics in the RDPP Production Department
· Leadership of all aspects of safety management for the department, including the maintaining of effective safety programs, investigation of safety incidents to drive root cause solutions and preventative actions and establishment of / achievement of department safety targets. Drive a zero EHS incident culture.
· Manage all staffing requirements for the department including training requirements & training plans.
· Adhere to budgets by managing monthly spend to the given forecast, and explain variances as requested.
· Supports planned mechanical and electrical maintenance, installation and modifications on all extrusion, thermoforming and auxiliary equipment to ensure industry best overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Includes supporting predictive, preventative, and autonomous maintenance programs. Documentation of key activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
· Develops, writes, implements, submits and/or presents various technical reports or CARs in support of cost reduction, reliability, repair and safety initiates.
· Provides hands-on technical support (troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications) for the RDPP Production Department. Development and implementation of permanent solutions to on-going process and hardware issues.
· Utilize the Pactiv Evergreen Production System (PEPS) to promote continuous improvement, i.e.; A3, 5S, Standard Work, Problem Solving, etc.
· Maintain and manage accurate engineering, maintenance, process / operations and product specification related documentation.
· Able to be flexible with schedule as needed. Occasional off-hours support of the department may be required
QUALIFICATIONS:
· BS in an Engineering discipline with typically 5+ years of applicable plastics manufacturing process engineering experience – either sheet extrusion or thermoforming – and 3+ years in ‘Manufacturing Management’ experience. Will consider candidates without degree if they have comparable work experience.
· Must work in a safe manner by applying knowledge of applicable safety rules and following precautions including lock-out/tag-out procedures and arc flash compliance (NFPA 70E).
· Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook. SAP Experience is desired.
· Must be familiar with AutoCad or similar drafting program.
· Ability to interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, etc.
· Experience with troubleshooting of electrical circuits and PLCs is desired.
· Strong project management skills – ability to keep projects on track and on budget.
· Highly organized problem solver - able to handle multiple tasks and strong sense of urgency. Must be a self-starter and must demonstrate initiative. Able to work with minimal supervision.
· Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with people at all levels within the organization.
· Ability to effectively develop and/or train employees across all levels of the organization.
· Strong ability to improvise when solutions are not clear.
