RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the Cyber Security Team, the job of the Director of Security Architecture involves overseeing the design and implementation of security architecture solutions for an organization. This role requires a deep understanding of security best practices, emerging threats, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement security solutions that align with business goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Leading the development of a comprehensive security architecture strategy that addresses current and future security needs of the organization.
• Overseeing the design and implementation of security architecture solutions, including but not limited to network security, cloud security, identity and access management, and data security.
• Collaborating with business leaders, IT teams, and security teams to identify security risks and vulnerabilities and developing solutions to mitigate them.
• Providing guidance and expertise on security architecture to other teams and stakeholders within the organization.
• Developing and maintaining security policies, procedures, and standards that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Conducting regular assessments and audits of the organization's security architecture to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
• Staying up-to-date on the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and making recommendations to the organization as needed.
• Managing and mentoring a team of security architects and engineers to ensure that they have the skills and resources needed to perform their roles effectively.

EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Strong background in cybersecurity and experience with security architecture design and implementation
• Excellent communication and leadership skills and be able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• A deep understanding of regulatory compliance requirements, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS, is also essential
• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is typically required, along with relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
• Ability to accept and apply constructive criticism
• Strong initiative, able to self-manage and use good judgment
• Ability to collaborate and develop working relationships at all levels of management, both inside and outside of Cybersecurity
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at one time
• Ability to present information to an audience both virtually and in person
