46 miles south west of Little Rock, Malvern is a city in and the county seat of Hot Spring County, Arkansas. Founded as a railroad stop at the eastern edge of the Ouachita Mountains, the community's history and economy have been tied to available agricultural and mineral resources. This plant's manufacturing dates back to the 1920’s and currently manufactures protein trays and pads with approxinately 350 employees..

Responsibilities

Extrusion Process Technician

 

Description:

  • Provide statistical/trend analysis of data collected for process and project purposes
  • Calibrates extrusion test, sets up, and repairs various controls, instruments, and gauges measuring all types in variables.
  • Work with engineering on statistical data collection and implementation of new work processes
  • Understand and use statistical computer software, including Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) to diagnose and troubleshoot
  • Provide computerized, statistical documentation of results, new findings, conclusions, and recommendations on projects as needed to engineering leaders
  • Identify and recommend safety, process/product improvement opportunities including evaluating equipment not performing to standard speed, cost reduction opportunities in all assigned areas and processes based on experience and observations
  • Implement new or revised processes, procedures or operating practices in all areas and processes involving packaging trays, changed SOP’s, safety procedures, etc.
  • Write Standard Operating Procedures in the correct computerized format
  • Annually review LOTO for any changes or new requirements
  • Work with vendors, including visiting vendor sites, to collect information to improve processes at the facility
  • Assist in the identification of training needs for production personnel, and then provide needed training
  • Maintain and ensure final and intermediate product specifications are correct
  • Work with process/project teams to solve problems, participate or help lead Kaizen events
  • Communicate accomplishments and other news to facility personnel
  • Troubleshoot major mechanical/electrical problems.
  • All other duties as required by supervisor
  • GMP Responsibilities:
  • All associates are responsible to comply with operational methods, personnel practices and all communicated requirements to ensure a safe and productive work environment and overall product safety.
  • Execute said duties to maintain compliance with stated product safety/GMP, legal, regulatory and quality systems requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years of extruder related experience
  • Supervisors/Lead experience
  • Willing and able to work 7am-3pm Monday-Friday + on-call
  • Polystyrene foam related experience a plus
  • Inventory management skills
  • Quality assurance tracking
  • Equipment related mechanical /electrical process knowledge
