Sustainability Programs Manager 



  • Assist in driving progress on Pactiv Evergreen’s sustainability initiatives, such as reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, energy, water and waste across all facilities
    • Support cross-functional teams in development, implementation and tracking of sustainability goals
    • Support drafting and implementation of best management practices guide(s) related to sustainability for facilities
    • Support evaluating, monitoring and reporting on progress in operational improvements related to sustainability
    • Develop and manage new “Sustainability Champion” facility recognition program
    • Consolidate data and information on investments and costs/benefits related to operational sustainability initiatives
    • Coordinate routine communications with sustainability project teams


  • Collect, compile, analyze and assist with reporting on sustainability metrics
    • Identify effective and efficient data collection, reporting and archiving tools
    • Work with internal teams to collect data from various sources
    • Review and analyze data to ensure accuracy, completeness and track progress
    • Work with sustainability team to report on progress
    • Support external sustainability data requests


Other responsibilities may be added to support Pactiv Evergreen’s sustainability objectives.


Skills and Qualifications 

  • BA/BS degree required, preferably in environmental science, engineering, sustainability or related field from a board of regents accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that support working collaboratively across functions
  • Strong project management skills, tracking schedules, costs and deliverables
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Strong research and analytical skills and demonstrated ability to manage and summarize abstract data and information
  • Must be able to work in manufacturing and forest settings and capable of typical exposures and environmental conditions
  • Able to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed
  • Flexible, self-starter, self-motivated and confident in decision making and communications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with SAP and Tableau a strong plus


Employee will report to Chief Sustainability Officer and may work at the Pactiv Evergreen headquarters in Lake Forest, Illinois or remotely. Some travel (estimated 10-20% of time) will be required.
